Danette Lehman brings over 30 years of extensive experience in workers' compensation to our firm. She has worked as a field case manager for a private company, overseeing state-funded and self-insured Bureau of Workers’ Compensation cases. Danette assessed and tracked the needs of injured workers and developed and submitted vocational case management plans in accordance with the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation guidelines.
Additionally, she worked at OhioHealth for 24 years across several departments. In the Leave Management and Accommodation department, she assisted OhioHealth associates with their medical leaves of absence, addressing both non-occupational and occupational illnesses and injuries. Danette developed transitional work and accommodation plans to ensure a safe and timely return to work. She guided and instructed associates on FMLA and eligibility criteria. Furthermore, she assisted associates with the long-term disability application process. Danette collaborated with management and leadership to address complex concerns and needs regarding the leave process, BWC, FMLA, ADA, and departmental operational needs. During her tenure at OhioHealth, she also served as a case manager for WorkRehab, a CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) industrial rehabilitation program that provided work conditioning, work hardening, and functional capacity evaluations (FCEs) for injured workers. She acted as a liaison to vocational rehabilitation case managers, doctors, BWC managed care organizations, and employers.
At Monast Law Office, Danette serves as a Legal Assistant and Case Manager. She supports correspondence and discussions with clients, the Industrial Commission, BWC representatives, and medical offices. She files Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) appeals when a client's treatment is denied. Additionally, she submits MEDCO 14s, C-84s, and C9s when appropriate.
Danette obtained her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Bowling Green State University and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).
Danette lives in Upper Arlington, Ohio. She has been married to her husband, Rodney, for 28 years and has one son, Michael. The family adores their wire fox terrier, Chloe. Danette enjoys running, especially on Sunday mornings with a friend. Every Sunday, they savor post-run coffee and muffins at La Chatelaine French bakery. In her spare time, she also enjoys watching movies on the big screen with her son, Michael. They support the Gateway Film Center in Columbus, Ohio, for its diverse range of films.
